Fly-Out 

We strive to provide a unique and truly exceptional experience to all our guests.  Thus, we use our own turbine otter to fly all our hunters to some of the most remote territory of Northern Saskatchewan.  While travelling in our otter, unfolding below will be the background for what you are about to enter.  It is a picturesque, virtually unhunted boreal forest, dotted with lakes, rivers, and streams.  You will be amongst the few to ever have the opportunty to hunt trophy black bear in such an isolated and beautiful land.

Well-Appointed Camps

Comfort will be plentiful in your well appointed spike camp.  You can come to expect seperate tents for hunters, guides, and dining areas.  Each tent has a wood burning stove, and there is plenty of firewood provided.  Sturdy, full-sized cots will make for a comfortable nights sleep.  All spike camps are equipped with generators, lanterns, and comfortable hot water showers, as well as toilet facilities.  We also have Garmin communication devices at camp in case of an emergency, and our turbine otter aircraft is always on standby.

Amazing Opportunities

Cochrane River Outfitters occupies a setting every hunter has been searching for.  You will be hunting a truly remote area of over 22,000 square miles.  The black bear occupying this diverse habitat have drawn you here in your challenging search.  Black bear numbers in this area are very high, and there are many mature trophy quality animals.  You can also expect color phase opportunities. This year we had a 100% harvest success rate, and most were book Pope & Young.  2019 should also be an incredible year!

Fishing Bonus

As an added bonus, if you happen to tag out early on your Black Bear hunt, you will have the opportunity to fish some of the same water fished all summer by guests of Wollaston Lake Lodge.  As Lake Trout spawn in the fall, this provides a truly unique opportunity to enjoy some of the very best Lake Trout  fishing of the entire year.  Moreover, there are still plenty of opportunities to catch trophy Northern Pike.
Cochrane River Outfitters provides all of the fishing equipment and gear at no extra cost.

​Non-refundable deposit of $4000 is required before booking can be confirmed

Package Information

Package includes:
  • Pick up from and return to Points North Landing, Saskatchewan
  • Turbine Otter Floatplane from Base Camp to Spike Camp and return
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals
  • Comfortable spike camp with hot showers
  • Generator electricity and wood burning stoves
  • Professional guide for every two hunters
  • Field dressing and preparation for shipping of your Black Bear
  • Fully equipped, boats, motors, and fuel
  • Fishing gear and tackle for use when not hunting

Optional extras:
  • Gratuities, confectionary items, fishing license (if you would like to fish)

Not included:
  • Black Bear tags and associated provincial licensing requirements (note that all tags are allocated to Cochrane River Outfitters and are not on a draw system)
  • Overnight hotel accomodations required in Saskatoon for northbound and southbound journeys.
  • Air travel to Points North Landing (our pick up point)

Please contact us for details on deposit and cancellation policies.  Notice of cancellation must be given in writing.
